A drone Tower of the Sun, and 15,000 shells
This is a modern, production-heavy show rather than a traditional festival. The fireworks are paired with music and a drone show — and for this 5th edition, the drones will draw a Tower of the Sun in the night sky directly above Taro Okamoto's real tower, a first for the event. There is also a 5th-anniversary collaboration with Osaka radio station FM802, including a special DJ mix. The venue has moved to the park's East Plaza this year specifically so the shells can be fired across a super-wide frontage — a "wall of fireworks" of about 15,000 shells, among the largest counts in Kansai. During the day, the park also hosts the Hokusetsu Culture Festival and Ramen EXPO, so the site is lively long before the 19:00 start.
Tickets: the 2026 situation & your realistic options
All 27,000 seats are reserved and paid, and park garden admission is included in the ticket. Sales run through the official site's ticket page and playguides including Ticket Pia and KKday; after phased advance sales, general sale has been running since October 3, 2026. Ticket status as of October 20, 2026: tickets are on sale now, but the camera seats and wheelchair seats are sold out. There is no free viewing — ordinary park admission does not let you watch, and after 16:30 the park admits ticket holders only.
Can't use the Japanese ticket sites?
Pia's sales pages are Japanese-language and account-based (KKday is the more international-friendly of the two channels). I buy Japanese event tickets for overseas travellers every week — message me on Ko-fi with your party size and the area you want, and I will tell you honestly what is still realistic for this show.
Message me on Ko-fiGetting there — and getting home
- Use Banpaku-kinen-koen Station (Osaka Monorail), about 15 minutes on foot from the venue in normal conditions. The monorail connects from Senri-Chuo, Minami-Ibaraki, Yamada, Hotarugaike, Dainichi and Kadoma-shi.
- Arrive early: the organisers recommend reaching the station by 16:00 — in event crowds, the walk from the station can take over an hour.
- Gate rule: after 16:30, only the park's Central Gate is in use. Come via Banpaku-kinen-koen Station, not Koen-higashiguchi Station.
- No event parking: there is no parking for the event — come by monorail.
- Doors open at 12:00, and the daytime Hokusetsu Culture Festival and Ramen EXPO run in the park the same day, so arriving early is easy to fill.
- Weather check: any cancellation is announced on the official website from 10:00 on the day.
What to bring
- Your ticket — all seats are reserved, and entry after 16:30 is ticket-holders only.
- A compact raincoat — the show fires in rain.
- Warm layers — you will be seated outdoors in late November, and doors open at noon if you come for the daytime events.
- A portable battery — for the official announcements and the monorail ride home.

Can I watch for free?
No. Every seat is reserved and paid; ordinary park admission does not allow viewing, and after 16:30 entry is for ticket holders only.
Which seats are gone?
As of October 20, 2026, camera seats and wheelchair seats are marked sold out on the official site. Other seats are on sale via Ticket Pia, KKday and other playguides.
What if the weather is bad?
The show fires even in rain, unless wind exceeds 10 m/s or firing is judged dangerous. There is no postponement; a cancellation is announced on the official site from 10:00 on the day, and tickets are refunded if the show is cancelled (not if it is stopped mid-show).
When should I arrive?
Aim to reach Banpaku-kinen-koen Station by 16:00. After 16:30 only the Central Gate is used, so route via that station rather than Koen-higashiguchi.
